Blend eggs, shortening, margarine, vanilla, salt. and sugar until fluffy.
Add sour cream and blend.
Add flour mixture.
Preheat oven to 375.
Grease and flour counter-top generously, or use wax paper and flour.
Roll out dough about 1/2-1/4 inches thick. Use cookie cutters of similar sizes for best results with baking.
Baked on greased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes, turning halfway.
Cool completely and then decorate.
While cookies cool, whip up your own frosting!
In a mixer, cream butter, cream cheese and vanilla.
Gradually add sugar and mix until smooth. (Leftovers can be stored in the fridge or freezer!)
The best part about this dough is that it isn't too sweet- you can easily frost and add fun decorations (we love all things sprinkles) without them overwhelming you with sugar! Make sure to take lots of pictures of your kiddos at each step, and be fully prepared for the flour to get everywhere!
